This New Moon falls under the lunar mansion of Chitra, the brilliant one and the star of opportunity, showing us that clarity is always shining bright, and accessible to us.

Diwali begins with Dhanvantari Jayanti, the birth day of the divine physician and Lord of Āyurveda, celebrated on October 18, before Goddess Lakṣmī arises, indicating that health must be honoured first, so that true abundance and wealth can naturally arise and sustain. The night of Dīpāvali, the night of the New Moon in Libra, is when Lakṣmī is believed to visit our homes that are clean, bright and harmonious, so we light lamps, decorate and invite her blessings of abundance. In Jyotiṣa, Śukra (Venus) carries Lakṣmī’s qualities: beauty, love, art, wealth, prosperity, and refined enjoyment aligned with dharma. Whenever our natal Venus is in his sign of Libra or Taurus or exalted in Pisces, we are naturally blessed with Lakṣmī’s abundance and prosperity - not only material but spiritual. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, where he realises his true potential, but exaltation does not always mean softness and easiness. It can also expand what we would rather not grow. Still, what we receive now with this transit is a preview of Jupiter’s full entry into Cancer in June 2026, meaning that the themes surfacing at this time will reach fuller manifestation in the second half of 2026. According to ancient tradition, Dhanvantari emerged during the Samudra Manthana, the great churning of the cosmic ocean, bearing the amṛta kumbha, the pot of nectar that grants immortality. As the Ādi Vaidya, the primordial healer, he represents the source of compassion and wisdom that nurtures and sustains all living beings. Depicted holding the elixir of eternal life, Dhanvantari symbolises the rejuvenation of body and mind, and the restoration of inner and outer harmony. His presence graces Ayurvedic institutions, clinics, and homes; his mantras are invoked daily to awaken healing energies. I begin every Āyurveda consultation by chanting his sacred mantra, attuning myself to his timeless grace and wisdom, a gentle reminder to remain humble and true to the lineage of knowledge passed down to us.

To honour Dhanvantari on this auspicious day is to open ourselves to the medicine of nature, the healing intelligence that flows through the elements, the plants, and the depths of consciousness. During India’s freedom movement, Dhanvantari Jayanti was widely celebrated to mobilise the masses against British oppression, to revive and uphold Āyurveda as a symbol of national pride and cultural resilience. Since 2016, this day had been observed as National Āyurveda Day. And although Āyurveda Day is not celebrated (officially) on this day anymore, to me, this will always remain the true day of Āyurveda.

As Pitru Pakṣa comes to a close with the solar eclipse, a sacred doorway opens into Devī Pakṣa or Navarātri on 22 September. This celebration marks the symbolic rebirth of the Goddess, as the Moon gradually reappears in the night sky, after the darkness of the New Moon (and eclipse this time), restoring our power of manifestation in the world.

While Navarātri is observed several times throughout the year, Aśvinī Navarātri holds a place of special significance and is regarded as the most widely celebrated of them all. It takes place in the lunar month of Āśvini. Across India, different regions honor the Devī through their own unique traditions and practices. During these nine nights, the Nine Forms of Śakti are worshiped, inviting us to connect more deeply with our Divine Mother.

Kombucha is a fermented tea beverage with origins in Chinese culture, historically celebrated as an elixir of longevity. Modern research on kombucha is still limited, and the few available studies associate it with adverse effects such as acidotic coma, liver dysfunction, and lactic acidosis.

Fermented foods, in general, are rich in probiotics—living bacteria that can support gut health and stimulate agni(digestive fire) when consumed appropriately. From an Ayurvedic perspective, they should not be consumed in large quantities daily and not by everyone. All fermented beverages have a strong influence on the body. Ayurveda recognises that fermentation generates internal heat, which can aggravate individuals with a predominant Pitta constitution.

Qualities (Guṇas) of Kombucha
- Taste (Rasa): predominantly sour (amla)
- Energy (Vīrya): heating (uṣṇa)
- Post-digestive effect (Vipāka): sour (amla)

A Vata-balancing diet benefits from sweet (madhura), sour (amla), and salty (lavana) tastes. In moderation, kombucha may help pacify Vata. Its sour nature tends to aggravate Pitta and Kapha, since sour taste increases both these doshas, and can by consequence derange Vata. Fermented foods, when not well-digested, may create ama (toxins built from undigested food), leading to digestive discomfort, reflux, or abdominal symptoms.

Kombucha should be consumed in moderation, always with awareness of one’s digestive capacity and constitutional type (prakriti). It is equally important to recognise the modern commercialization of kombucha: many products on the market diverge from traditional preparations, often containing added ingredients.

This eclipse season comes with a very special synchronicity - Pitru Pakṣa, the fortnight of the ancestors, begins today, the day of the lunar eclipse, and ends on the day of the solar eclipse, on 21 September. It falls each year on Kṛṣṇa Pakṣa (dark fortnight) of the month of Bhādrapada (September–October). This alignment highlights both the release of ancestral patterns that no longer serve us, the experience of karmic debts on a personal and collective level, and the honoring of the blessings that continue to guide us. It is another step toward bringing ancient wisdom into the heart of our modern lives and collective consciousness.

Pitru Pakṣa in the vedic tradition is a moment in the year where our ancestors come closer to the earth to receive offerings from their descendants. It is dedicated to performing Śrāddha (ritual offerings) for ancestors.

Whatever our experiences with them are, there remains a call for acceptance in this lifetime. Without it, we risk carrying unresolved threads that keep our lives entangled and hinder true flow.

Without even being aware that this period was coming, I received an insight and guidance through my dear @_isaguitana_ to come to a specific place on 09/09/2025 at 6h, and this will be part of my rituals. Eclipses are powerful catalysts for transformation. Although they often arrive with intense and catastrophic events, bringing profound shifts both personally and collectively, they are events not to be afraid of. During an eclipse, energy is temporarily obscured, only to be released in a heightened way once the shadow passes.

Since the Moon governs the water element—and our bodies are largely composed of water—its disruption during an eclipse can stir our inner tides, unsettling both body and emotion. Important to be even more mindful in respect to hydrating the body during these times.

A lunar eclipse occurs on a Pūrṇimā (Full Moon), but it is no ordinary Full Moon. At this moment,the Earth’s shadow blocks the Sun’s light from reaching the Moon, creating a rare alignment made possible by the closeness of the lunar nodes to the Sun and Moon.

This particular Lunar Eclipse of 7 September takes place in Aquarius, within the Pūrva Bhādrapadā nakṣatra, ruled by Aja Ekapada, one of the 11 Rudras, fierce manifestations of Śiva. I recently came across this simple yet profound sentence that deeply resonated with me.

It appeared in the book Caraka Saṃhitā – A Transliteration of Nidānasthānam by my dear teacher, Vaidya Atreya Smith. Reading it reminded me once again of the vast ocean of wisdom contained in the Vedic wisdom and tradition.

One lifetime feels far too short to even begin to grasp its depth. May many lifetimes unfold, each one allowing me to journey deeper into this knowledge— knowledge that brings me even closer to the source that resides inside of us.

Agni in Sanskrit means “fire,” also associated with the God of Fire, the first deity invoked in the Ṛgveda, the oldest of the Vedas.

oṃ agnimīḷe purohitaṃ yajñasya devamṛtvijam | hotāraṃ ratnadhātamam ||1||

“I adore Agni, placed in front, the God of the Yajña, the ṛtvik (priest) who embodies the ecstasy of Truth. He is the summoning priest who awakens dormant ecstasies in human beings.”

Every Devata (divine being) has an external and internal component. For Agni, the external component represents Fire, the cosmic power of heat and light. The internal component of Agni is the willpower united with wisdom. Agni has many other functions like the force of concentration and the fire in the stomach that digests food in men. As the Charaka Samhita (oldest Ayurveda classical text) states, Agni is our digestion and metabolism. Between eating and being, there is a crucial intermediate step—Agni. Therefore, we are not what we eat, but what our bodies can digest. In Ayurveda, the goal is not for Agni to be too strong or too weak, but to remain stable. Maintaining balanced digestion is key, because not all food we consume is absorbed and transformed into nourishment and tissues.

Few tips for good digestion:

- Eat only when you’re truly hungry, while trying to maintain regular meal times.
- Connect with your body: Am I really hungry, or am I eating out of habit or craving?
- Eat 2–3 times a day. Avoid snacking. Nourish your body with each meal, and you won’t feel hungry between meals.
- Take the proper amount. Quantity, quality, and frequency are key in Ayurveda.
- Sip warm water or herbal teas in small amounts while eating.
- Choose fresh, seasonal, and local foods, preferably freshly cooked.
- Avoid distractions while eating.
- Take a short walk after meals.
- Do not eat when emotionally upset.
- Practice regular physical exercise.

Ayurveda encourages us to be more mindful of our habits, diet, and lifestyle. It invites us to pause, reflect, and integrate awareness into our daily lives. How can we be healthy if we don’t take the time to take care of our food? Remember that true health is real freedom.

Sweet in taste and very neutral, figs are:

Since industrialisation and the consequent modernisation of society that our own potential and inner power has been gradually reduced. We started to live from the outside to the inside, from the outer to the inner, giving the power to decide to others (family, partners, doctors, etc) rather than following our intuition and inner guidance - the incredible guidance that is available to us starts from within. From there, we can start cultivating the access to the signs given by the universe, by LIFE itself, every single day.

This quote is an invitation for us to stop everyday, even if for a few minutes, to just be, to just breathe. How can we really connect with anything if we think that it is too much to take a few minutes a day to connect with ourselves? Because the rhythm of life that has been created for us has gone over the limits. It is overwhelming, and we have to break free - we like it or not. We are about to witness one of the most auspicious Full Moons of the year, Guru Pūrṇimā, the Full Moon that honours the Guru. It occurs in the constellation of Pūrvāṣāḍhā, meaning “that which cannot be suppressed”, placed in the zodiac sign of Sagittarius, a sign of truth, freedom, and higher knowledge. Under this Full Moon, we may feel a powerful urge to speak our truth and break free from limiting beliefs and patterns. It is an invitation to expand our consciousness and realign with what truly brings joy and fulfillment to our soul.

Pūrvāṣāḍhā is ruled by Apas, the water goddess, who symbolises water held in a container — emotions that are restrained or suppressed, not yet free to flow. This differs from Varuna, the Lord of the Oceans, who flows freely in the vast, unbounded waters of spirit. Apas, by contrast, reflects the waters of the material world — sensitive and easily influenced.

This Guru Pūrṇimā is especially significant, as Jupiter, also called Guru, the great teacher and planet of wisdom, is involved. Jupiter, now rising after a period of combustion by the Sun, directly aspects the Moon in Sagittarius. Just as Jupiter rises, so too are we called to rise — to expand in wisdom, truth, and consciousness.

In many spiritual traditions—especially in Eastern philosophy—birth is seen as far more traumatic than death.
Why? Because when we die, we exhale, we release, we return to the source.
But birth? Birth is a shock to the system. We inhale, leaving the comfort of the infinite and entering the physical world to live out our karmas and grow in consciousness.

Modern society treats both birth and death mechanically.
Pregnancies often lack true preparation—not just physical, but emotional, relational, and spiritual. Preparing for birth means looking at our patterns, our relationships, our sexuality, our nourishment—our whole way of BEING and LIVING. It’s not just about taking supplements, cutting out certain foods, or attending a few prenatal classes. True preparation is holistic. It invites us to grow in awareness, to clear what no longer serves, and to consciously welcome new life.

💉 For example, many studies show that epidurals can significantly reduce endorphin levels in the mother. This affects the baby too—especially how they take their first breath and root into life, which will be reflected in certain patterns throughout life. This doesn’t mean epidurals are “bad” or an “error”—but women deserve informed choices not one-size-fits-all protocols.

Birth and death are sacred transitions.
- They should be prepared for—not avoided, rushed, or silenced.
- Let’s bring more awareness, reverence, and consciousness into how we enter and exit this lifetime.

Astrology, especially Vedic astrology, is a profound tool for awakening to the wholeness of our being. It helps us recognize and honor our path of self-development, bringing deeper awareness to the mysteries of both life and death. Rahu, the North Node of the Moon, represents the force that pulls us into this life—our desires, karmic lessons, and evolutionary path. On Wednesday, the Moon meets the Sun and Jupiter for the culmination of Amāvásyā, the dark moon, in Gemini, under the fierce and transformative constellation of Ardra, “the moist one”, one of whose symbols is a teardrop.

Ardra is ruled by Rudra, the fierce form of Shiva that represents thunder, the universal energy who both destroys and heals. His tears are not weakness; they are power. Rudra’s presence during this lunation indicates a time of storms, of thunderous upheaval. Even with Jupiter conjoining this New Moon, his influence is weakened—placed in an enemy sign, within Rahu’s nakshatra, and burned by the Sun’s combustion. Here, knowledge itself must undergo purification through fire. Jupiter and Rahu, both expansive grahas, now intensify the storm rather than soothe it.

This is a time of catharsis. The sky and the outer world reflects much of the turbulence many of us feel internally and collectively. The influence of Rahu, the shadowy force that governs Ardra, stirs karmic winds. What has been hidden will rise. What has been ignored will knock louder. The Moon, representing the mind and the subconscious—the vast, unseen part of our consciousness—brings these patterns into focus. It holds the weight of our past and the imprints that shape our behaviors, often causing us to repeat cycles until healing breaks the loop. This lunation calls us to meet that repetition with awareness, to begin the process of release and renewal.

Ardra reminds us that creation starts with dissolution, the thunder before the rain, the tears before the breakthrough. Under this New Moon, we are not asked to be calm; we are asked to be honest.

This makes it a powerful moment for intentional surrender, to feel, release, and begin again, grounded in greater truth.

Let Rudra’s tears wash what needs cleansing. Let the chaos show you what can no longer be denied. And remember: after the storm, the air is clearer.

🍑 June’s Habit: Eat raw fruit on Its Own or at the Start of Meals

Fruits digest very quickly. That’s why they’re best enjoyed on an empty stomach or at the beginning of a meal. These foods are naturally light and cleansing. When eaten before meals or between them, fruits help prepare the digestive system, gently cleanse the intestines, and even stimulate appetite and digestion.

Because raw fruits are the lightest and fastest-digesting food group, they should be eaten alone or before heavier foods. When raw fruits are combined with food in the meals, they will ferment in the stomach, leading to digestive symptoms such as bloating and gas and form Ama (toxins). Can you imagine a piece of watermelon or melon after your lunch or dinner? This is a very frequent habit in Portugal, at least, but it is definitely not healthy.

Past Habits to Continue or Still Introduce:
✅ January: Maintain regularity in lifestyle—consistent wake-up, sleep, and meal times. ⏰
✅ February: Start tongue scraping daily for better oral and digestive health. 👅✨
✅ March: Stop snacking all day 🍐
✅ April: Begin Your Day by drinking plain warm water in the morning!
✅ May: Cook Fresh. Eat Fresh. Be Healthier.

Between June 6 -July 28, Mars, the graha of action, drive, and courage, enters Leo, igniting themes of leadership, boldness, and creative power. Here, Mars is vibrant and expressive, acting with confidence. Yet, this transit brings a critical conjunction:Mars meets Ketu, the headless shadow planet. This combination historically coincides with chaotic events, impulsive actions, and crises involving power and leadership. Ketu, the “body without a head,” dissolves logic, and when with Mars, it causes people to “lose their heads.".In Jyotiṣa, it is said that Ketu acts like Mars so we have a double Martian energy here. This configuration has been present during key global events, like 9/11 and the Covid outbreak. With Leo representing politics, and authority, themes around power, identity, and ego clashes erupt.
